Manipal is never a dull and boring place. The place is usually buzzing with activity and this week wasn't any different. This was the week leading to the grand Convocation and the place was lit up in an extremely beautiful, though environment-unfriendly way.

Abbey Falls-1

Me on the left , Dr Anilbabu on the right and Dr Lenin in the centre , all at the starting point for Abbey falls. You need to park your vehicles here and walk for around 1 km.

Enthusiastic Dr Anilbabu telling me that make it fast to falls.Don't waste time in clicking

Madikkeri's hilly area and sloppy land is highly appropriate for coffee and spices plantations. As our auto driver said most of the coffee plantations here are property of Tata group of industries. One important medicinal plant locally known as 'Madduthoppu' and scientifically named as 'Justicia wayanadensis' is found abundantly in Abbey falls area.

We had to be content just with the view of the falls from distance because we weren't allowed to go till the footrest of it.The reason may be rainy season.Zoom in view
